Ludacris has been quite busy promoting his latest platinum album, Chicken-N-Beer, which is presently Number 28 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. But earlier this month the rapper also began work on his third movie, Crash.

The independent film, which is being shot in Los Angeles, also stars Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillippe, Nona Gaye, Tony Danza, Thandie Newton, and Larenz Tate.

Described as a cross-between Pulp Fiction and Traffic, the new film follows a multiethnic cast through the streets of Los Angeles as they pass in and out of one another's lives.

Ludacris was one of the stars of 2002's 2 Fast 2 Furious and he also appeared in 2001's The Wash.

In related news, Ludacris will be one of the performers on MTV's New Years Eve celebration in Times Square. The show will air on December 31st at 10:30 p.m. ET
