Sisters’ Journey Celebrates – Pauline (Paula) Williams

Read her inspiring story (thanks www.sistersjourney.org)

I’m Pauline Williams, also known as Paula, and I’ve been blessed with a life filled with miracles, signs, and wonders. For 27 years, I’ve been married to my loving husband, Rich Williams, who is a two-time kidney cancer survivor. Together we are proud parents to two wonderful children, Trinitee and Christian. As a devoted Deaconess at The First Cathedral Church in Bloomfield, CT, I’ve had the privilege of serving my community, earning recognition from esteemed organizations like 100 Women of Color, Black People Rock, and even receiving the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the White House last year.

My journey took a challenging turn in 2019 when a routine mammogram followed by an ultrasound and biopsy uncovered a 1.7-centimeter HER2-positive tumor that quickly grew to over five centimeters. With the unwavering support of my family and friends, I faced aggressive chemotherapy and opted for a double mastectomy. Despite facing a life-threatening complication post-surgery, I found solace in God’s presence and the expertise of Dr. Camelia Lawrence, who guided me through two surgeries in just four days across two different hospitals.

After enduring chemotherapy, surgery, and immunotherapy for more than 13 months, the pathology reports brought the miraculous news of N.E.D. – No Evidence of Disease. This incredible outcome humbled me and deepened my gratitude for every step of my miracle healing journey, reaffirming my unwavering faith in God and my purpose in life.

Today, I stand flat, happy and healed. I am filled with gratitude, eager to share my story to inspire others. Whether through my national TV appearances on The Today Show and Sherri Shepard or social media outreach, I aim to spread hope and remind others of the Power of Prayer. My favorite scripture verse, 2 Kings 20:5, beautifully captures my journey: Prayers answered, tears seen, and healing prevailed.

All Glory to God, for I am a Survivor.
